HAZARDOUS AREA WIRELESS NETWORKS

Wireless Connectivity is now a basic requirement in most manufacturing facilities to support a variety of mobile computing applications, communication systems, smart worker connected devices, IOT networks and Smart Instrument installations. Hazardous Area Production plants have benefitted in recent years with the arrival of countless mobile tablets, smart phones, hand held computing devices, headsets and IOT systems certified for service in Hazardous Areas.

Connectivity can be a challenge due to the fact that often network designers need to adhere to corporate standards and only deploy approved hardware where often this hardware is not certified for use in Hazardous Area Zones. This issue is resolved with the Extronics iWAP range which can be described as a vehicle to permit the deployment of wireless access points in hazardous areas, Zones 1 & 21 using the iWAP 107 series and Zones 2 & 22 using the iWAP XN3 series.
